Endowment Fund

The Spencerville Mill Foundation Endowment Fund has been created to guarantee the preservation of the Spencerville Mill and the Foundation's archival collection for perpetuity.

According to an Endowment Fund Management Policy, established at the 2008 Annual General Meeting, a committee has been established to ensure that funds are managed wisely. This committee consists of one Foundation Director and two community people who have demonstrated sound financial management practices.

There are three ways to donate to the Endowment Fund:

In Memoriam donations under $1000 will be directed to the General Fund except when made through funeral homes where donors will have a choice of “General Fund” or “Endowment Fund”. A page in the Memory Book located at the Spencerville Mill, will list the names of those recognized in memoriam.

Endowment Fund donations, In Memoriam, and bequests of $1000 or more will be directed to the Endowment Fund.

Named Endowments donations of $25,000 or more in the form of cash or other marketable securities may be made to create and maintain specific restoration or programming projects chosen by the donor and approved by the Directors. The project is named for the person, family, or business to whom it is dedicated.

Endowment Fund donors will be recognized with a full page acknowledging their contribution. This page may be created by the donor but must be approved by the Foundation Executive.

*Tax receipts are issued for all donations to the Endowment Fund.
